Exercises to Get Rid of Cellulite on the Thighs

People often carry more weight on their legs and thighs. Diet can assist with losing weight, but it is hard to lose weight from the thighs. The best way to lose fat from your thighs is through exercise. Exercise helps tone muscles as well as burn fat. Fat burning exercises for the thigh can be done anywhere with no equipment.

Squats With Ball

    Squats are good for the inner thigh. Place a ball between your back and the wall. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Bend your knees until your body is in a sitting position. Hold for five seconds then return to a standing position. Start with five reps and work your way up to 10 reps.

Plyometric Squat

    Stand with you feet shoulder width apart. Bend your knees and squat almost to a sitting position. Jump up with the momentum of your body weight bringing your feet off the floor and softly land on your feet. Start with three reps and work your way up to 10 reps.

Leg Circles

    Lie down flat on your back with your palms face down at your side. Take one leg with toe pointed and lift it straight up. Once the foot is lifted, make a circle with your foot in the air. Good Hamstring Exercises

Hamstring exercises focus on the thigh area of the leg. These exercises tone hamstring muscles to help improve the look and shape of your legs. Exercising the hamstrings will build muscle and burn more fat and cellulite. Some hamstring exercises can be done at home with no exercise equipment, and some require weights or a stability ball.

Stability Ball Hamstring Buster

    Lay down with your back on the floor. Place a stability ball under the back of your ankles. Place your arms at your sides and lift your lower back off the floor while keeping your back straight with your legs. The only part of your body that will be on the floor is your head, shoulders, neck and arms. Bend your knees and use your feet to roll the ball toward your buttocks. Hold for five seconds, then roll the ball back to your starting position. Do 10 repetitions.

Hamstring Curls with Ankle Weights

    Fasten ankle weights to your ankles. Start by standing straight with your hands on your hips. Bend one knee and lift that foot up behind you as high as you can. Hold for five seconds, then return your foot back to the starting position. Do 10 repetitions with each leg.

Hamstring Leg Lifts

    Start by getting on your hands and knees. Keep your back straight. Lift one leg up behind your body and straighten it out. Lift it as high as you can and hold it for five seconds. Then return your leg to the starting position. Do 10 repetitions on each leg.

Hamstring Hip Lifts

    Lay with your back on the floor. Place your feet on a chair or exercise bench. Place your hands with palms down at your sides. Lift your hips off the floor and raise your hips until your back is straight with your legs. Hold for five seconds, then return to the starting position. Do 10 repetitions.

Fat Burning Foods for Women

Women's metabolisms can sometimes work slower than men's metabolisms. Women are more prone to gain weight in the hips, thigh and buttocks area. A woman's metabolism rate can also vary depending on genetics and lifestyle. However, the following fat burning foods can increase a woman's metabolism and allow her to lose weight at a faster rate.

Complex Carbohydrates

    Instead of reaching for a sugary doughnut (simple carbohydrate), women should turn to complex carbohydrates such as whole grain bread. Complex carbohydrates are packed with fiber, which increases fat burning and decreases cholesterol levels.

Lean Protein

    Lean protein is a good fat burning choice for women. Protein helps break down fat at a faster rate, and lean choices such as chicken and fish are healthier options compared to red meat (which is a high fat food).

Grapefruit

    Citrus fruits such as grapefruit are packed with vitamin C. Vitamin C is known to speed up the metabolism and break down fat faster.

Low Glycemic Foods

    Low glycemic foods--such as carrot sticks with hummus--make good fat burners. Low glycemic foods don't raise blood sugar levels, which increase body fat and slow down metabolism.

Low-Fat Yogurt

    Low-fat yogurt is also a fat burning food due to its calcium content, as calcium helps burn fat at a faster rate.
